Letter to the Cabinet Secretary
Date: 09.06.2016
To
The Cabinet Secretary,
Chairman,
Empowered Committee of Secretaries,
Cabinet Secretariat, Rashtrapathi Bhawan,
New Delhi 110001.
Sir,
Our organization is an Apex body of recognized Gazetted Group ''B'' officers and promotee Group ''A'' Officers representing various Central Government departments like Railways, Defense, Postal, Income-tax, Customs, Survey, CPWD, Audit and Accounts, Pay and Accounts, Postal Accounts, Zoological Survey, Geological Survey, Botanical Survey, All India Radio, DoorDarshan, Ordnance Factory, Gazetted Chemists, Statistics, Atomic Research & MPEDA.
We solicit your kind attention to the fact that the JCM Staff side Organizations have found it necessary to strike work emphasizing the need for immediate settlement of their demands and have served a notice indicating their intentions. It is a matter of great regret that the staff side has been constrained to resort to such an extreme step for the sake of their demands which, in our opinion, are just and proper. A perusal of their demands would indicate that they include many of the demands presented by the CCGGOO for the Gazetted Officers before the Government. The Confederation of Central Government Gazetted Officers Organizations is in full agreement with the demands of the Staff side and endorses them as justified.
It is submitted that, this Confederation through detailed Memorandum and substantive oral evidences, had elucidated before the 7th Pay Commission their legitimate demands and grievances faced by the Gazetted Officers in various Central Government Departments. However, to our utter dismay and disappointment, we find that most of our legitimate demands have not been adequately addressed by the 7th Pay Commission.
Further as we are also one of the main stakeholders, we repeatedly sought meetings with Cabinet Secretary to ventilate our grievances exclusively pertaining to our Gazetted Cadre. But, unfortunately, no meeting was called for to give us a fair hearing. Despite our efforts and cooperation with the Pay Commission and other forums, none of our demands has been accepted. In such Circumstances, the Gazetted Officers are also left with no option but to join the strike by the staff Side on 11th July.
This is to give notice that the Gazetted Officers who are members of the affiliated organizations of the Confederation of Central Government Gazetted Officers Organizations will go on strike on 11th July, 2016. The Charter of demands in pursuance of which the Gazetted Officers will embark upon the Strike action is enclosed.
Thanking you,
Yours Faithfully,
Sd.................
S.Mohan
Secretary General
