Subject:      Request for granting GP Rs.5400/- to Assistant Accounts Officers on completion of four year w.e.f 01-01-2006 regarding

I have been  directed to enclose here with copy of letter No.61(79)/E-III(B)/2014 RTI date 13-05-2014 issued by the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, New Delhi  issued under  Right to Information Act 2005 in respect of Assistant Accounts Officers  of  Defence Accounts Department, Ministry of Defence.

 The said reply state that “.. G.P of 5400 after completion of 4 year is applicable to those who are working as   Assistant Accounts Officers (Group B in the G P 4800) in Defence Accounts Department, Ministry of Defence.” . This evidently vindicates the stands taken  by this association  under the banner of Joint Action Committee of Accounts and Audit Employees and Officers Organisations . It is also brought to your notice that traditionally there had been parity in the scales of pay of posts of Accounts Staff in the various organized accounts organizations which had reiterated by fifth pay commission vide para 55.4 and subsequent Central Pay Commissions also. It is there for requested that suitable Office Memorandum/Circular granting Grade Pay of Rs.5400 to Assistant Accounts Officers of Civil Accounts Organisation may please be issued with effect from 01-01-2006 at the earliest so as to keep morale of middle level officers of Civil Accounts Organisation.
